The 1959 Chevrolet Production Line.

Car production lines of the late 50’s were a completely different landscape to what we have today.

1959, was the peak of the ‘Spaceship Design’ and the ‘Spread Wing’ for Chevrolet. Style and cool was king, but to build these rolling works of art took much manpower on the production lines.
Everything was done manually. Long hours, hands-on work, but also the pride of knowing you actually built a vehicle and had a hand in doing so.
When you consider these guys put in long shifts of hard manual labor, you’d forgive them for the odd misaligned panel or wonky headlight.
