The 2016 Detroit Autorama had a whole host of incredible machines on show and this 1970 Plymouth Cuda “Torc” was no exception.

The surprise came in the choice of engine. Not your usual LS upgrade, but here we have a 6.7 L Cummins diesel engine producing 1500hp and 3000lb-ft of torque, in a street machine no less.

The grey paintwork gives it a sleeper like quality and everything is as you would expect on a ride of this quality.

Could diesel engines be the new fashion in engine swaps? Maybe not, but it’s a creative way to go.
