1964 Ford Mustang Pace Car, 1 of 1 Holman Moody Modified, Convertible Indy 500 Pace Car

 

– Engine: 289 V8. 450 hp.
Autolite 4-barrel.
Ported and polished Hi-Po heads.
10.5 to 1 compression.
Fairlane exhaust manifolds.
Galaxie radiator.
59 Galaxie limited-slip around 3.25 gears.

 

– Drive Type: Toploader 4 Speed Manual.
– Exterior: White.
– Interior: Blue.
– 3 Convertible Mustangs (a combination of Falcon and 1963-coded Ford parts.) were shipped to Holman Moody for modifiying for the 1964 Indianapolis 500, replacing the cars’ stock 260 engines with detuned 289s. Only 2 Mustangs were used, the other scrapped at the time! The other had mechanical failure.
