2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Unveiled: 755 HP, 715 Ft/Lbs of Torque

Now it’s official, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was unveiled recently in Dubai, showing off the most potent Corvette ever made. The new vehicle is one of two prototypes with a new benchmark power rating of 755 horsepower and 715 ft/lbs of torque.

These figures have pushed the bar in terms of power ratings, higher than a Dodge Hellcat with the added advantage of immense handling and a sporty feel that may just fill the gap made by the now gone SRT Viper. At the heart of the new Corvette is a LT5 6.2L V-8 engine with a intercooled supercharger system, giving 52% more displacement than a Z06’s LT4 blower. A dual-fuel-injection system helps keep the power numbers up which features a primary direct injection and supplemental port injection. All this is linked to a 7 speed manual or 8 speed automatic paddle shifted transmissions.

With all this power Corvette had to update the airflow and cooling systems, with a new front fascia and for extra radiators, giving a total of 13 heat exchangers. Aero packages help keep the Corvette planted with two available in the form of a low and high wing. the high wing giving up to 60% more downforce than a Z06.

There will also be a Sebring Orange Design Package which features a Sebring Orange Tintcoat paint job and matching brake calipers, splitter accent stripes, seat belts, interior stitching and trim.
