2017 Ford Herrod Performance Mustang Review
By David Ashton
Since Ford released the Mustang in right-hand drive for the rest of the world, the vehicle has slowly been gaining momentum and outstripping sales from some of its sports car competitors. Pretty cool for a pony/muscle car, but now tuners and custom shops are getting in on the act, such as Melbourne-based Herrod Performance from our cousins down under.
This review over at wheelsmag.com.au goes through the details of the Herrod Performance Shelby GT350 Mustang which kicks out an impressive 670.511Hp/500kW and 750Nm. Although Australia won’t have their own native muscle cars from now on, right hand drive versions of the Mustang will be more than welcomed down under.
The Herrod Performance’s ‘standard’ package incorporates a ‘Roush supercharger, Ford Performance calibration, Ford Performance cat-back exhaust system, lowered Ford Performance springs, Ford Performance bonnet struts, grooved disc rotors with high-performance pads, and extensive additional heat shielding to protect vital parts of the driveline.’ This also comes along with ‘Powered by Ford Performance’ badging and a Herrod Performance plaque on the dash.
Other upgrades include a FR3 suspension pack with new front strut assemblies, antiroll bars, new rear springs, dampers, bushes and lower arm. Throw into the mix a short-throw shifter, GT350R Alcantara steering wheel, matte-black 20-inch Momo wheels and Pirelli P Zero tires and you have some serious upgrades on your hands. All this for $88,945.
