The 2017 Dodge Demon Now Has Forced Induction Air Grabber
By Dave Ashton
With the latest video release of the Dodge Challenger Demon it seems that the latest Mopar beast will revive the ‘Air Grabber’ name on one of the largest hood scoops to come out from any modern muscle car.
The video, which is titled ‘Forced Induction’ points to a supercharged Hemi engine and how air will be blasted through the driver’s side air catcher head lights on both the drivers and passenger sides. The 45.2 square inch hood scoop, which will be the largest of any production American vehicle, will send the air through an aluminum hood to an air box, without drawing any air from the engine bay itself. The total system is named the Air Grabber first seen on B body muscle cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The original system could be opened and closed by the driver, with the new set up always being open.
The whole system should reduce the intake by 30 degrees F. More cooler air into the engine means ultimately more power.
From the video, it seems that the Air Grabber hood will have its own unique logo, along with what we know now to have 315-wide tires and flared wheel arches.
All we need now are some engine stats. to finish whetting our appetites.
