2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Is Indianapolis 500 Pace Car

This should excite all Chevy Corvette fans as the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is the official pace car for this years Indianapolis 500. The Grand Sport will lead the drivers on May 28, 2017 at the start of the 101st race.

This will be the 14th time since 1978 Corvette has led the field and the 28th time Chevrolet have made an appearance. The car being used will have Indy 500 graphics with special wheels for the event in the shape of 19×10-inches in the front and 20×12-inches in the rear. This is good enough for a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds and a quarter mile time of 11.8 seconds.

The grand sport has a LT1 direct injected V8 engine with 460hp going through an eight speed automatic transmission. It will also feature a carbon ground effects package with the standard magnetic ride control, electronic limited slip differential, custom stabilisers and the Z07 package with Bembo Carbon Ceramic brakes, 15.5-inch rotors and six-position calipers upfront and 15.3-inch rotor with four-position calipers outback.
