1975 Mercury Comet GT
1975 Mercury Comet GT
Engine: 302.
Transmission: Manual.
Mention a 1975 Mercury Comet to most as a potential muscle car purchase and you’ll probably get a funny look.
The year of manufacture is out of the musclecar era, not exactly the most sought-after make or model, but what you do get is a car in fantastic condition, has been cared for, upgraded and has only two owners from new.
It usually takes a Mercury or Comet fan to immediately appreciate a car like this one, but it’s good to highlight those vehicles which aren’t necessarily on everyone else’s radar from time to time.
A Mercury Comet will never be able to reach the prices of a Dodge Challenger or Plymouth Barracuda, but what you will have is an affordable car that looks fantastic which anyone would be proud to own.
It’s also a GT!
‘A rare 1975 Mercury Comet GT with a newly rebuilt numbers matching 302 and a 3 speed manual with floor shift. Very powerful engine/transmission combination. Engine bored .030 over, hypereutectic pistons, rebuilt heads, edelbrock 4 barrel, new water pump, camshaft, clutch, voltage regulator, fuel tank, sending unit, aluminum intake manifold, Thrush Cherry Bomb dual side-exit exhaust. This car is quite rare, some rust underneath and paint bubbles (see pictures) very manageable though. Two owners, myself and my great uncle, special ordered in 1975. Title, bill of sale, and receipts included. Extra Cragar S/S rim with tire included. Full spare. Restore this car and you will easily have a $25,000 car.’
