1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye
Engine: 340 4-barrel
Transmission: automatic
Current bid: $7,500.00
In 1972 the R/T was renamed to the Rallye with a performance hood and dummy air extractors on the front fenders. The car kept the chrome bumpers from ’71 with the same front fenders. This one is all original with numbers matching powertrain and its original paint. It has been sitting in a garage for 30 years and was last inspected and driven in 1990.
For its longtime resting its in remarkably good condition with only surface rust in areas, the chrome having rust, but not looking that bad and the seller saying there is no rust in the ‘runk, floors, frame rails, rockers, and torsion bar braces.’
It’s not the prettiest of color combos, but once the paintwork and interior has been restored, it will surely look nice in a gleaming state. the interior looks in good condition, while the seats will need reupholstering, but it seemed much better state than you would think for a car stored 30 years.
The engine is said to run, but clearly needs a good strip down and overhaul to get it back in shape. For the asking price this is potentially a nice restoration project.
