A 1971 Plymouth Barracuda: The Pride Of Mecum
By David Ashton
This incredible 1971 Plymouth Barracuda comes from the Jim Fasnacht Collection, which went up for auction at Mecum over the past weekend.
Amazingly unrestored, with only 46,000 miles, it was originally bought on March 11, 1971 with a lady owner having the car in her possession until 1995, then being sold to a Portland resident up until 2009, arriving in Jim Fasnacht’s hands in 2013.
The car has a 340ci. V8 engine, Torqueflite automatic transmission, A36 Performance axle package with 3.55 gears and original TX9 Black paint and interior. Everything completely original, along with two broadcast sheet.
This Cuda is about as original as you can get, giving you as near as dammit 1971 ride, as it was back in the day.
