1970 Dodge Charger ‘Tantrum’: 1650HP Twin Turbo
This incredible machine showcased at this years SEMA car show was quite honestly, one of the most impressive vehicles of the show and one of the most impressive Dodge Chargers we have ever seen.
The car was built by SpeedKore Performance, Port Washington, Wisconsin.
On close inspection you will see the intricacies and attention to detail in all aspects of this car.
Carbon fibre has been used extensively, from the front fenders, to the hood, valances and the molded front and rear ends.
A Custom grille was made to fit around the 2014 Challenger lights, which is just one of the custom aspects of this great machine.
Carbon fibre runs from the front to back quarters and only on close inspection do you see the use of carbon fibre, showing a subtle approach to this sinister beast.
The fun really starts when you start to look at the engine, which is a Mercury Marine engine, which is more at home in boats and watercraft. Previously, the company have worked on the LT5 V8 engine for the Nineties version of the Corvette ZR1, so they are no strangers to the automotive market.
This monster is a 9L, 90°, double overhead cam V8, with a pair of 94 mm turbochargers, out-of-the-box good for 1650HP.
If this isn’t now the current poster boy for muscle cars, we don’t know what is.
