1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: Promotion Car For ‘Gone in 60 seconds.’
Firstly, this is a Mustang which was used for the promotional photo/video shoots, not in the film, but this is probably the only downside to the car.
It has a 428 big block, nitrous and upgraded suspension. The car was originally a 4 speed GT 390 fastback, recreated as a Shelby GT500E.
The car was completely stripped down and rebuilt in 2005 with over $20,000 spent on the engine alone.
The car seems to have a few minor flaws here and there, like small fibreglass cracks around the windshield. The ad. says they have had a quote of $3000 to get the car completely perfect, so you may want to factor that into the cost.
Movie vehicles and ones that have been turned from one model to another are hard to gauge on worth, as it can be quite subjective. But fans of the film and ones wanting one directly attached to the promotion of the film, this may be a worth while investment.
