1968 Dodge Charger 383, Can It Be Rescued?
Price:US $6,800.00
1968 and 1969 Dodge Charger are probably the most classic designs from the B bodies era and with the right options can be worth a pretty penny, what happens when you have a specimen that is in as bad condition as this one? This Charger has clearly seen better days, but is it worth rescuing and most importantly the asking price of $6,800.00.
Most project build cars people can deal with a missing engine, rust in the quarter panels, but when there is no engine, rusted out floors and just a shell, there is a mountain of work ahead to get it back in shape. The ad. says that the car is solid in the important structural areas, but when there are holes everywhere like there is here, a close inspection would be needed to see if this is worth the work.
Being so bruised and battered looking from the rear, I can’t help put think this Charger looks like the battered robot from the 1979 Disney film The Black Hole for those old enough to remember. Like the robot itself, it’s just about hanging on to what it was built for. But like the robot analogy, someone with the skill, money and patience could bring this back to life.
1968 Chargers can go for anything up to the high $60k mark with a sweet powertrain. R/T models or others with rarer options even more. In the right hands this Charger could be salvageable and says it comes with paperwork, but you’d have to be well aware of the money needed and work to address all it’s issues.
