Turbocharge The Chevrolet ‘Bonemaro’ On A Budget

Squeezing the most power from an already cheaply put together LS-powered 1979 Chevrolet Camaro ‘Bonemaro’, is some task. Can it be done as cheaply as the car itself? Can a 500hp car be produced for a minimal budget?

Bolting on an eBay found turbocharger is the way forward here, but it’s not as simple as just a quick bolt on.
Other upgrades were needed to the V8, such as valve springs, new head gasket, head bolts and an LS6 camshaft.

The CX Racing turbo kit, provides a low-cost induction solution, which are now a lot better than their earlier counterparts.

After much tinkering and fine tuning, as you would expect with retrofits, the car eventually produced 530 max horsepower and 590 max torque. Quite impressive for the total work involved.

This all shows that with the right kit and knowledge, is quite possible to get a powerful setup, but you will have to watch the full video to get the intricacies of this build.
