Its What You Own, Not How Many….

This picture is not a picture of my collection. Oh no, mine is much smaller. This collection is a friend of mine and the picture does not do it justice. At last count there were over 100 vehicles in there all of which have a special meaning. The building is heated and cooled and the air gets exchanged as needed.

Typical collection? Heck no, but this guy earned his money via hard work and decided this would be his pleasure. Yes, they run tours through the place with a guy leading the group who is more than just an employee. He is a friend, a partner, a worker and a invaluable asset to the care of the collection. Everyone here is nice, proud, and full of energy for our hobby. So, that’s the way it has to be right? Wrong.

Whether you have one car or a hundred it is not amount or the size for once. Size does not matter at all. What matters is if you have a Mercury Maruader with a 390 under the lid and you love it it then it’s your collection. Having one classic car costs money, time, energy, and more. More meaning something else you should have done like clean out the gutters lost out to you wiping down the valve covers or putting armor all on your interior – again.

Please do not get caught up with the guys you may know of or hear about that they have a storage building with twenty five sweet cars in it and you poor loser only have one. One is great and make the best of it. Take it to a show, drive it with a smile and share your happiness with others. The big boys are always out there. Let them have some fun but do not take your eye off your prize. At every show I will see some drop dead sweet car sleek in and think he has got the best. Sure enough 15 minutes later something else rolls in that is better and the first guy is bummed out. Let them worry about egos. Keep yours in check and enjoy whatever you have. Even if it has a few flaws in it- so what. It is yours and be proud of your wheels. Simply enjoy the hobby as it is meant to be for the regular folk.
