5 Muscle Cars Men Love

By  |

No matter if you own one or lust after one, a muscle car will always announce presence, masculinity and a unique type of coolness that seems to go with the territory.

Here we have our rundown of five muscle cars which we think are either the most popular, most sought-after or the coolest.
Own any one of these muscle cars and you will show taste, originality and the ability to get your hands dirty when you need to. Not many modern cars can fill as many criteria and have the retro-cool that the golden era muscle car possess.

Camaro

Launched in 1966 as a competitor to the Ford Mustang, its sleek body and lines were an immediate hit. Not many muscle cars are as prolific while having muscle and mass appeal the same time. Plenty to choose from across the used market from originals to restomods.
Beautiful throughout all its generations.

Shelby 427 Cobra

The words Shelby and Cobra are synonymous with muscle cars.
Between 1960 to 1965 the Cobra design and engine set the standard for decades to come. They now fetch some of the highest prices in the muscle car world.
Think more in millions than thousands of dollars.

Mustang Boss 429

Three magic words that will make any Ford fan quiver.
Produced to blast out the rest from NASCAR, the 429cu engine was the top of the heap for the Boss name.
Rare, exclusive and oh so powerful even today. The only shoulders that were probably bigger were Lou Ferrigno’s doing his Hulk pose.

Corvette Stingray

When it was first released in 1953, the Corvette didn’t have a promising start, but all that changed over the years with progressive generations.
The C2 became the stingray to own and lasts right up to today.

1969 Dodge Charger

Firstly, to quell the masses, yes I’ve missed out Chevelle’s, Challengers, Roadrunners, etc. and gone for the Dodge Charger as it encompasses solid muscle car looks and can still be bought without a king’s/Presidents/NFL player’s ransom.
The rotating headlights were like a gangster in shades and with a 440 engine, you knew you were king of the streets.
