Here we have a direct comparison between a 2018 Dodge Demon SRT Challenger and a Bugatti Chiron.

At first I thought this was going to be a straightforward drag race between a Dodge Demon and a Bugatti Chiron, but this is more of a comparison between the most powerful muscle car on the road and the most potent supercar.

Consider the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has 840hp and 770 pound-feet of torque, hitting 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and the quarter-mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph. This comes from a supercharged 6.2 L Hemi Demon V8 engine, the most potent in any muscle car. The Demon also holds the highest G-Force for a production car at 1.8 G, 1 second to get to 30mph and all this for less than $100,000 or an expected $86,093 MSRP.

The Bugatti Chiron on the other hand has 1500hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque, hitting 60mph in 2.3 seconds at 261mph. This comes from a 8 liter, 16 cylinder engine with four turbos. All this available for just a snippet of the price of $2,998,000.

If money was no object and you wanted the fastest out there, then the Chiron would probably be your first choice. But for the same amount of money, you could own more than 30 Demons and be able to drive a different one every day of the month, all with different setups and configurations. The Demon may be seen as more of a straight line dragstrip machine, but I wouldn’t underestimate its basic track potential.

I know which one I would go for. Leave your comments below.
