A few weekends ago I had visitation rights to see my 1928 Ford Model A. It is about 75 percent done with about a dozen items to go. Not big items but those pesky ones that are boring and take a lot of time.

We did discover we must use non ethanol gasoline. Something we just never thought about until we noticed the rubber gasket for the gas cap had grown twice its size. So, it’s a ten gallon gas tank and I found where to buy the non ethanol gas. Locally it is $3.30 a gallon and it’s not easy to find. Regular unleaded gasoline is currently $2.29 per gallon. So, it’s not too bad. Now the only good way to resolve the issue is to tear down the perfectly great running engine and rebuild it using harder valves, valve stems and a laundry list of other things. Forget that.

I will just buy the non ethanol fuel. I see no reason to tear down a perfectly running Swiss watch just to use another fuel. So, it’s the beginning of August already and the A got pushed back a bit for some other issues but it’s coming along nicely. I will keep all of you informed when we cross the next major bridge.
