Muscle Cars At Auction This January

The opening of the year seems to bring in some great muscle car auctions, which range from Sotheby’s Scottsdale and Phoenix auction to the Arizona Concours d’Elegance. From classic era muscle cars up to present day, the muscle car field always seems to gather momentum as the years go by for collectable prices and this year is no different. Here we have a few select muscle cars from each of the auctions for you to drool over.
1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird
Built for NASCAR racing between 1969 and 1970, the Plymouth Superbird and its comparison Dodge Daytona were released in limited numbers and didn’t sell too well at the time, making them present-day rarities. This one features a 440cu. Super Commando engine, three speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, matching numbers and in Hemi orange paint. the rear quarter panel’s trunk floor replaced during the restoration along with the front seats being prepared, otherwise, everything else is original. 1969 Chevrolet Nickey Camaro Coupe
One of the original engine swap shops, this Nickey Camaro features a 427/425hp engine, M21 4-speed transmission and full documentation. Available at Russo and Steele auction here.
2004 Ford GT Prototype CP-1
Ford GTs fetch crazy money at the best of times, so this prototype is bound to fetch some of the highest numbers at auction this month. It is the Confirmation Prototype 1, first built in 2003 and the first GT prototype to have a full drivetrain and interior. Being the first powered and functional Ford GT CP-1/VIN 004 since the 1960s, this is a truly original car. Check it out here.
2014 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet SS
This Chevrolet SS was raised by Dale Earnhardt Jr. in six races between 2014-2015. being sold at Barrett Jackson Scottsdale, with all proceeds going to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital. A fantastic vehicle and a chance to help a worthy cause.
