Kacey Musgraves’s 1964 Pink Barbie Chevrolet Corvette Z06 At 2019 Met Gala

It seems we have turned into fashion bloggers for the day as Grammy Award-winning Kacey Musgraves arrived at the 2019 Met Gala in an attention grabbing pink Barbie Chevrolet Corvette Z06 convertible.

The Costume Institute Benefit or Met Gala has been running since 1948 and is held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC as an annual event. Invited are all types of celebrity folk who always dress to impress. This year saw the likes of the Kardashians, Serena Williams and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton attending the event who arrived in a host of luxury vehicles. But it was Kacey Musgrave who made the brightest entrance with a Pink Barbie Chevrolet Corvette Z06 convertible, dressed herself in matching colored outfit with pink hairdryer purse and pink fur (is ‘outfit’ the correct fashion word here….?).

(here goes the fashion write up….) Kacey sported not the base model ‘Vette, but opted for a 650hp supercharged Corvette Z06 with matching accessories. A Barbie pink dress and blonde hair finished the look, making the whole ensemble the potential color for this summer. Coordinating the colors between car and high fashion is definitely the way forward if you want to stand out from the crowd this season.(editor – stick to car topics….)

Pink vehicles have been used a number of times in the past especially with muscle cars to grab attention. If you check out this previous post of ours which documents Playmate of the year cars from the past, it was a yearly feature for Playboy to hand a bright pink muscle car to the Playmate of the year. The image below shows Donna Michelle with a 1964 pink Ford Mustang as one of the earliest examples of the Playmate of the year car. Other pink Playmate cars over the years included Allison Park’s 1966 Dodge Charger, Angela Dorian’s 1968 AMC AMX and Liv Lindeland’s 1972 De Tomaso Pantera.

One things for sure, if you properly accessorize your look with a color-coordinated, high-performance vehicle it can definitely be the best attention grabber at any event. (Vogue – can I have a job now……?)
