Yes, from George Barris, to Richard Rawlings, to loving a pole I have thoughts. Barris was considered to be the King of customization at one time, building famous custom cars like the Munster Koach, Beverly Hillbillies car, KITT from Nightrider and the original 1966 Batmobile. Today, it might be one of his students, Chip Foose.

The car you see in the picture was used in the Tv show, The Munsters. Grandpa Munster had to drag race his coffin car and win in order to get back the family car Herman lost in a drag race. Corny show, lots of laughs but if you can watch it do so for to drag strip scenes. They are pretty cool as this show was done in the early to mid 1960’s.

George and his brother Sam started building custom vehicles for private owners which caught the attention of the movie industry. One of the first car has been shown in the 1958 movie High School Confidential.
Other notable early movies featuring his vehicles included the 1960 H. G. Wells The Time Machine.

From Elvis Presley, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Ann-Margret, Glen Campbell and the movies of the day, George and co., Built some of the standout vehicles of the day, with his vehicles still standing the test of time.
