The Ford Mustang Boss 429 stands for some of the best pony cars available not just from Ford, but throughout the muscle car fraternity. Only 1,358 were produced over their two-year period, making them high up on the collectors list.

Two examples coming up for auction will be offered at Auctions America and Mecum during May. The first is a low mileage 1969 model Boss 429 with only 36,000 miles, in largely original condition apart from a repaint in its original Royal Maroon color. The interior is also all original. All documented and comes with a Marti report expecting to sell for $275,000 to $375,000 at Auctions America on May 11-13.

The second is a 1970 Boss 429 for sale at Mecum Auctions on May 16-21, with an ultra-rare Pastel blue color supposedly available on only 18 cars. This example has less than a hundred miles on the clock since a restoration in 2008. This also comes with a full Marti report, with an estimated pre auction price of $350,000 to $400,000.

Both vehicles were titans in their day, with an official horsepower rating of 375, but more like 500 in reality.
