Ford Mustang Boss 302 vs Chevrolet Camaro, Europe’s View

It’s fine comparing the old rivalry of Mustangs vs. Camaros from a US perspective, but what about from a European perspective where these vehicles are less familiar? The Mustang is now available in Europe in right-hand drive and was one of the best sellers in Germany last year, proving that American muscle is a popular offering. The Camaro is still left hand drive on European shores and adds a nice raw, V8 offering to the rest of the choices in its price range.

This video, which also accompanies this article on auto car.co.uk, gives a European overview of both vehicles where they can arguably be judged on their own merits where the back history of rivalry doesn’t play as big a part in their evaluation.

Although the V8 was originally a European invention, it was the US which adopted the engine and took it to heart. In Europe the V8 was arguably used more in high-end luxurious vehicles such as Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin and Jaguar or high-end sports cars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lancia and Maserati, not normally accessible to the average guy. Rover made a fantastic V8 engine more akin to the masses, but the four-cylinder engine was the main mindset.

Distancing yourself from the back history of a vehicle or car scene can be an advantage, so the video makes interesting watching to see exactly how the plus and minus points of each car are evaluated. Definitely worth watching the video and reading the article to see what the rest of the world thinks of a bit of modern day American muscle.
