Classic Muscle Cars: 1989 The Callaway C6 SuperNatural SledgeHammer Corvette LM

This beast may seem like a weird hybrid between a TVR and something like a Toyota Supra, but in reality it is a C4 Corvette capable of running 254 mph with 898hp in the late 80’s. The car was the brainchild of Callaway cars.

The backend is completely C4 while the front follows the fashion of the late 80s and early 90s with a carbon fibre body. In retrospect the design almost looks more Japanese and anything else, under the skin, it’s all-American and like today, it gave the rest of the world’s supercars a run for their money.

The SledgeHammer Corvette had turbo intercooler on either side of the intake manifold which produced 898 horsepower at 6200 rpm with 772 lb·ft. of torque, a top speed of 254.8 mph and 3.9 seconds for 0-60mph. This ran through a six speed manual transmission, updated from a five-speed manual.
