Find Of The Day: 1970 Plymouth Road Runner RM23
One of the main benefits of this Road Runner is that it has never been restored or at least completely.
The car is a 1970 Road Runner RM23 with a non original but 1970 383ci engine, 4bbl four-speed numbers matching transmission with pistol grip shifter.
The car was originally burnt orange with a burnt orange interior, now painted with metallic burnt orange with a copper pearl mid coat. Some work has gone into this paint job as you can tell from the images however, the ad. does say it has a few minor chips and scuffs here and there, meaning this car has been driven and enjoyed.
The car seems to have had a good overhaul, with many new parts such as the complete fuel system, windshield, chrome trim, new carpets and door panels.
Other upgrades include the rallye gauges to electronic versions, behind the stock faceplates.
One downside is the fender tag is missing, which will need to be investigated and the AM radio doesn’t seem to work.
This is not a perfect show car as you can see from the images, but what does need replacing or restoring, doesn’t seem to be major jobs.
The current bid price is at $19,600 with just over two days to go.
For an unrestored Mopar, such as this which has seemingly been cared for and upgraded just where it needs it with a still pokey 383 engine, this could be just your project to work on over the winter. That’s obviously if everything checks out.
