This is a special Readers Ride submission which takes a beloved Mustang back to its former glory.

Any restoration project is no small feat, no matter how it is glamorized on a TV show. It takes many hours, much perseverance and much dollars to complete.
As you can see from these images, if you follow the process through to the end, all that time and energy is well worth it.

‘This is our ’69 Ford Mustang a friend gave my boy.
It used to be his wife’s car before she passed. He would not sell it or give to his kids, but when my son got his license, amazingly, he just up and gave it to him. By then the car had been sitting in the woods for 16 years.
We had to move other vehicles blocking it. Then we disassemble the front of the ‘Stang to pull out onto the trailer.
In the first year we got things working on it and the 4 coats of paint off of it. The computer build sheet said it was green. However, we decided to keep the yellow.
It has been to the dragstrip a few times since.’
