2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody First Laps

Before the Dodge SRT Challenger Demon takes back all the headlines, the Hellcat is now available 3.5 inches wider with flared fenders for 2018 in a wide body version. These being exactly the same as the ones on the upcoming Dodge Demon. This translates to 1.6 inches more of front track, 2 inches more of rear track, with 30 mm more tire width.

This extra width according to Dodge can shave seconds off lap times, with a reported quarter-mile time being done in 10.9 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than before. Automag.com in their test drive report that the 6.2 L V8 with 707Hp and 650 lb. ft. of torque, running through an eight speed automatic transmission is the fastest Hellcat yet with positive comments all round about this model.

Their conclusions of the test is that this wide bodied version of the Hellcat isn’t just a track ready machine, but ready for nearly all situations, it’s just that you will have to pay $7,300 more than the average Hellcat for these luxuries. However, if you want the the best version Dodge Hellcat currently available, this is the model to go for.
