Zora Arkus-Duntov car is the architect of this car, co-created with Bob Schuller of American Custom Industries (ACI). It maybe a 1980s model, but it has been displayed in the Corvette Museum with loads of original paperwork, history and documentation with the sale. 200 of these vehicles were meant to be built, but this ended up being 32 with this one being number five.
These limited run of vehicles were put together by taking stock Corvettes, fitting a ACI designed body making the body 6 inches wider, with vents in the hood to pull the heat from the turbocharger. The turbo added 7psi of boost, but also produced tons of heat which means all the hoses were replaced with Aeroquip hoses.
Being a vehicle previously displayed in the Corvette Museum means, it’s definitely show standard condition through and through. It’s also reasonably low milage. Definitely a piece of Corvette history, but as it’s a 1980s vehicle it’s also neither the rarest of the more sought-after. It’s basically stuck between a rock and a hard place. It’s rare, in great condition, but unfortunately from a time when Corvettes were at their weakest in power.
This doesn’t mean it’s not a worthy purchase, but more for those who have a special affinity with this era of Corvette or want a specific vehicle created by Duntov.
