The Pontiac GTO is another one of those classic muscle car designs which never seems to grow old. In every style from 1964 to 1974, (the GTO was originally an option on the Pontiac Tempest) the worth and collectability has steadily risen. This example is a second-generation GTO A-body and like the ’68 and ’69 models, a classic muscle car design.

This one is numbers matching, but unfortunately doesn’t sport the top end 455 HO engine or being the Judge model (although it does have some judge badges). It does apparently, ‘Runs and drives strong,’ has a bunch of new parts, solid bodywork and more or less intact interior. The exterior looks as though it’s been through a meteor shower, but actually looks more like primer spray spots as the start of a restoration. As a lot of the mechanicals have been worked on, the majority of the work from now on will will be with the body and interior.

The body panels that need replacing are stated as the – trunk deck lid, passenger quarter panel and passenger side floor. Extra parts not fitted that come with the same include – new AC condenser and compressor, black floor carpet and a black headliner.

In top condition a 1970 Pontiac GTO could get you up to $50k in today’s market and although this one is asking maybe top dollar, it certainly has had quite a bit done to get you going on a full restoration.

-new Edelbrock carburetor and air cleaner
-plugs, wires and distributor
