1970 Ford Torino King Cobra, 1 of 2 original Ford prototypes

– Engine: Boss 429 Hemi Head V8.
C9AE-6015A casting number.
Aluminum heads.
C9AE 9425-D aluminum dual plane intake, single Holley four barrel.
Blue single snorkel air cleaner.
Black Boss 429 valve covers carry the famous Holman & Moody logo.

– Transmission: Toploader 4-speed manual.
No center console – just a Hurst T-handle shifter
– Ford 9-inch ‘N’ rear / 3.50 gears.
Rear Monro-Matic shocks.
Front maintains its standard double A-arm configuration.

– Formerly owned by Bud Moore.

– Born from the 1969 and 1970 NASCAR ‘Aero Wars’, between Ford and Chrysler (GM had a rest.)
Dodge had the Charger 500. Holman & Moody responded on Ford’s behalf with the Torino Talladega, claiming the 1969 Daytona 500.
By the time of The Atlanta Motor Speedway, Mercury released Cyclone Spoiler II. Then the Dodge Charger Daytona.
Out of 102 Grand National races held during the ’69 and ’70 seasons, aero cars claimed 73 victories overall.
Ford claimed 37, Chrysler claimed 36.
